برنامج ((( VLC Media Player 2.0.1 ))) يعتبر من مشغلات الملتميديا المشهورة و المميزة، يمكنك تشغيل ملفات الصوت و الفيديو بكل سهولة و خفة دون الحاجة لترميز ( codec ) خارجي،
حيث يمكنه تشغيل ملفات MPEG-1 و MPEG-2 و MPEG-4 و ملفات DivX و غيرها، إضافة إلى
إسطوانات الـ Audio أيضاً يمكنه التشغيل من كارت الديجيتال (DVB-S)
وايضاً اماكنيه تشغيل ملفات الفديو التالفه المحمله من الانترنت التى لا يقدر تشغيلها المشغلات الاخرى ستجد الكثير الكثير من المميزات .

INPUT AND DEVICES
o Experimental support for BluRay discs:
- Menus are deactivated in this release (will come soon).
- AACS and BD+ DRM libraries and keys are not shipped, for legal reasons.
o Support for SDI capture cards and QTKit devices.
o Support for new adaptive streaming protocols, like HLS and DASH.

o Completely new, single window interface:

o Support for ProRes 422 and 4444, AVC/Intra.
o Support for Jpeg-2000, Dirac and DNxHD/VC-3 in 10bits.
o Support for EBU subtitles (stl) and EIA-608.
o SDI and HD-SDI card support for input on Linux.
o New Dirac/VC-2 encoder, faster than the previous one.
FOR DEVELOPERS
o libVLC, libVLCcore and libcompat have switched from GPL to LGPLv2.1+.
o New libVLC examples are available: media player, photobooth and mediainfo clones.
o New JSON requests on the web interface to control running VLC instances.
o Implementation of the MPRIS2 interface to control media players.
o VLC's web plugins have been rewritten for better integration and stability in all browsers.
