Description:
In the mi*st of life's challenges, so often our faith feels small an* weak. In this book one of the worl*'s premier Bible teachers, N. T. Wright, remin*s us that what matters is not so much our faith itself as Who our faith is in. Faith, says Wright, is like a win*ow. The point is not for part of the wall to be ma*e of glass. The point of a win*ow is to allow us to see through it--an* let light into the room! Faith allows us to see our situation an* our own weakness in light of Go* who is powerful, holy an* loving. Wright also looks at the character of the faith Go* calls us to. He unfol*s how *epen*ence, humility an* mystery all have a role to play. Go* beckons us to lean on him as we seek to be constructive citizens of the worl*, to speak truth in love without hypocrisy an* to risk submitting to one another in love. Wright *oesn't ignore the messiness an* *ifficulties of life, when har* times come an* the unexpecte* knocks us *own. He opens to us what faith means in times of trial an* even in the face of *eath. Through it all he remin*s us, it's not great faith we nee*: it is faith in a great Go*.

Review
"N. T. Wright remin*s us that Christian faith is neither a mere assent to certain facts nor a sentimental embrace of religious i*entity. Instea*, Christian faith is always *etermine* by its object. The size of our faith is not what matters, but the greatness of the Go* who has accepte* us because of Christ's work on our behalf. This reissue of one of Wright's early works contains a message that may be more timely to*ay than when it was first release* in 1978." (Trevin Wax, Christianity To*ay, December 2010)
"Anchore* soli*ly in Scripture, Wright's book is easy to rea*, using helpful illustrations an* analogies to support his explanations. This will make fantastic small-group material . . . Recommen* this book to everyone, but especially to group lea*ers, class teachers, an* pastors." (Davi* Mun*t, CBA Retailers & Resources, November 2010)
